City & Guilds/CILEx Level 2 Award in Legal Information Processing - £345
This qualification introduces you to database skills. It can be studied as a standalone qualification, and the units also form part of the City & Guilds/CILEx Level 2 Diploma for Legal Secretaries.
What will I study?
You will study two of the following units, selected according to your requirements at work or areas of interest:
|Unit 224 Legal spreadsheet processing
||You will develop the knowledge and skills to use spreadsheet software to produce meaningful data and handle information effectively within the context of the legal environment. You will learn you to create, modify and present data including creating graphs and charts, and to use formulate in making calculations.
|Unit 225 Legal database processing
||You will develop the knowledge and skills to use database software to produce meaningful data and handle information effectively within the context of the legal environment. You will learn to create, modify and present data including sorting alphabetically or numerically, how to query a database to retrieve information. You will be able to prepare reports, queries and tables for print.
|Unit 226 Legal presentation techniques
||You will develop the knowledge and skills to use presentation software to present information effectively within the context of the legal environment. You will be able to use presentation software to create, modify and present information using a template, including creating new slides, entering text and graphics, creating interactive slide shows. You will also be able to produce printouts in a variety of formats.
How will I be taught?
When you enrol with CILEx Law School you will receive course materials for the unit. You will have access to a Course Forum and Academic helpline to assist you as you go along. Once you have worked through the manual for the unit, and attempted the practice exercises within it, you can request your assignment.
How are the units assessed?
Each unit is assessed by one timed assignment taken under the supervision of your employer or another third party.
If you think you might be interested in the broader City & Guilds/CILEx Level 2 Diploma for Legal Secretaries we recommend that you apply for all courses at the same time. You will only receive a Diploma if you register for it at the beginning. Alternatively you can study for the Award now and then study separately for a Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate for Legal Secretaries.
