CILEx Practice Rights

Under the Legal Services Act 2007 some legal work can only be undertaken by, or under the supervision of, an 'authorised person'. These areas of work are called 'reserved' and 'regulated' legal activities. CILEx Regulation, the regulatory arm of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) has schemes to grant these rights in immigration, conveyancing and probate practice. CILEx Law School can offer training to practitioners who wish to meet the knowledge elements of the qualifications.

Conveyancing Practice Rights

Anyone who can prove that they possess the necessary knowledge, skills and experience can apply to become a CILEx Conveyancing Practitioner. CILEx Law School offers distance learning courses for the following CILEx units. Success in the exams will satisfy the knowledge requirements for the Conveyancing Practice Rights scheme.

You do not need to be a member of CILEx in order to apply to become a CILEx Conveyancing Practitioner.

Probate Practice Rights

Anyone who can prove that they possess the necessary knowledge, skills and experience can apply to become a CILEx Probate Practitioner. CILEx Law School offers distance learning courses for the following CILEx units. Success in the exams will satisfy the knowledge requirements for the Probate Practice Rights scheme.

You do not need to be a member of CILEx in order to apply to be a CILEx  Probate Practitioner. 

Immigration Practice Rights

If you are a Fellow of CILEx you can apply to become a CILEx Immigration Practitioner if you can demonstrate that you have the necessary knowledge, skills and experience. CILEx Law School offers a course in CILEx Level 6 Immigration Law. Success in the exam will satisfy the knowledge element of the CILEx Immigration Practice Rights scheme.
