CILEx  Law School’s Hannah West wins Bedfordshire Business Women Female Apprentice of the Year award

Hannah West, Apprenticeship Recruitment Coordinator at CILEx Law School, has won the Female Apprentice of the Year category in the Bedfordshire Business Women Awards 2019. The award was presented at a ceremony on Friday 8th March 2019 at the Park Inn, Bedford, which closed National Apprenticeship Week.

CILEx Law School delivers apprenticeships to the legal services sector and Hannah was recruited in November 2017 to work within the team that recruits apprentices for our employer clients. She has completed her Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship through Bedford College and is now enrolled on a Level 3 Human Resources Support Apprenticeship. She is also an apprenticeship ambassador for the Youth Ambassador Apprentice Network.

In granting Hannah the award, the judges said that: “Hannah is a prime example of someone who didn’t have an easy time at school but who has got herself an apprenticeship and has gone on to shine.”

Hannah was nominated for the award by her manager, Kathryn Jack, who said: “Hannah’s role involves promoting apprenticeships at exhibitions and school fairs, as well as giving detailed advice and guidance to apprentice candidates on the phone. She has impressed us with her excellent customer service, which is a key element of our corporate mission statement, as well as her resilience, determination and proactive approach to her work.”

On receiving the award, Hannah said: “I am delighted that my hard work has been recognised by being nominated for, and winning, this award. I have recently started a second apprenticeship programme and I look forward to developing my knowledge and skills further and to progressing my career.”
