CLS shortlisted for Legal, Finance and Accounting Provider of the Year in AAC Apprenticeship Awards 2019

CILEx Law School has been shortlisted in the Legal, Finance & Accounting Apprenticeship provider of the year category in the AAC Apprenticeship Awards sponsored by FE Week and the Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP)

Jenny Pelling, CILEx Law School’s Director of Business and Apprenticeships, is also a finalist in the Outstanding contribution to the development of apprenticeships (individual) category.

The provider of the year category criteria requires demonstration of:

  • High levels of engagement with employers and apprentices
  • Sustained commitment to working with employers in your sector, particularly how your provision adapts to meet employer requirements
  • Evidence of high levels of learner retention, progression and positive outcomes
  • Evidence of high quality teaching/tutoring throughout

CILEx Law School’s submission was based on our provision of Paralegal, Chartered Legal Executive and Solicitor Apprenticeships nationally, the latter in association with partner universities.

We act as a consultant to client organisations in setting up apprenticeship schemes by advising on funding rules, and in identifying appropriate job/staff development roles which meet the requirements of each Standard.

We offer a free apprenticeship recruitment service to ensure that vacancies are filled by high-calibre applicants and conduct supervisor training to ensure the best start for apprentices.

Our teaching is conducted through face-to-face sessions with our legally-trained delivery team and a sophisticated online delivery system.

We currently have over 500 apprentices in client organisations in the legal sector. Due to the quality of our recruitment and delivery services, our apprenticeship completion rate for 2017/18 is significantly above the national average.

Jenny Pelling said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for this national award. It follows on recent confirmation of our position as the largest legal apprenticeship provider for the last academic year. Thanks are due to all members of staff for their hard work and to our employer clients for their ongoing support.”

All finalists have been invited to attend a reception at the Houses of Parliament on 4th March 2019, at the start of National Apprenticeship Week. The winner will be announced on 28th March.
