Our courses for legal secretaries will develop or refine your secretarial skills and help you to succeed in the legal environment. The choice of legal secretary qualifications available means that you can tailor your learning to fit your current experience and learning requirements.

What qualifications are available

Qualifications are available at Level 2 and Level 3. The Certificate qualifications contain the core units at each level, whereas the Diplomas offer an option to extend your training. These allow you to choose additional units either to increase your technical knowledge, or to give you an introduction to the law and procedures in your selected area of legal practice.

Choosing your qualification

The core qualification at each level is the Certificate for Legal Secretaries. Our Level 2 Certificate is ideal if you wish to become a legal secretary and do not have any current or previous legal secretarial experience, although you do need to be able to use a keyboard. The Level 3 Certificate is suitable if you are already working as a legal secretary and you wish to build on your current legal secretarial skills or you have previous legal secretarial experience and are looking to move back into the legal field.

We off three types of qualifications, both at Level 2 and Level 3:

These are two-unit technical qualifications covering a specific combination of skills.

These are qualifications comprised of four or five units which deliver core legal secretarial skills.

These are broader six-unit qualifications with a choice of additional units.
